Microsoft published a new paper on The Cloud, which provides lots of details and also marketing material. It outlays a sort new vision ~ however talks and implementation of Cloud Computing is the new buzz. But let's not forget some history when we had more centralized systems and much less overhead then in todays world, the total decentralization caused by the laggard attitude of IBM in those days has given us the problems of today with top heavy PC's, poorly and inefficient softwares with options that no one is using and security issues not to mention.
Web data is growing at a fast pace, and we can expect new Web technologies and tools to arrive on the scene in quick order. Also, as social media tools reach more and more users, organizations will need to continue digging ever further into the Web. Some traditional data integration applications are already supporting this type of functionality, or will be supporting it in the near future. We haven’t seen the last of this story. Stay tuned.
